Working Together As a Community to Leave Behind Microsoft Media Formats. Our best collective course of action is to practice what we preach. This means that we use Flash as the go-between with media that is not ripped in .OGG or Theora.

ummm…Flash is non-free software, I fail to see how using flash is better than using Microsoft Media player formats.
In fact flash is worse. We have mplayer that will play almost any format(although not legally in many counties) but flash is only available for x86 Linux.
