(From the article):Looking east at the thousands of marchers gathered from Fourth to Seventh streets on the Mall, Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) said Obama needed to be reminded “that the reason we built that monument to president Abraham Lincoln is because he saw the humanity in a slave that the Supreme Court said was not human.” Nothing could make Obama less like Lincoln than “forgetting that the unborn are also little children of God,” he added.
Fetuses weren’t taken from their homeland, shackled, kept in piss poor conditions and beaten. They didn’t escape slavery to be dragged back to the womb. They weren’t segregated and disenfranchised.
They should really focus their energies on something else. Tangible genocide issues instead of somebody stuck with a hard choice because these people won’t take concessions on birth control, or allow their children to know about safe sex, let alone have it taught in the schools. They don’t want teens to have access to condoms, as if it will somehow prevent them from having sex. Maybe they should even lobby on behalf of making the pill covered by health insurance.
Oh, and they should find better comparisons.
Yaldabaoth is a prety smart fellow.
A slave being a person that is put in a position they don’t want to be in, caused pain and mental torment, been segregated from their peers and had life opportinities taken away from them. Sounds like a teenage forced to carry to term an unwanted pregnancy. We can discuss the rights of the fetus, once we have the technology to seperate them from the rights of the mother.
