ragdoll: (via yaldabaoth): (From the article): Looking east at the thousands of marchers gathered from Fourth to Seventh streets on the Mall, Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) said Obama needed to be reminded “that the reason we built that monument to president Abraham Lincoln is because he saw the humanity in a slave that the Supreme Court said was not human.” Nothing could make Obama less like...

“All the states actually…ban the sale of X18+ rated material, though possessing it and ordering it from elsewhere is quite legal. In practice, sex shops commonly carry extensive stocks of X-rated films regardless of the law.” It’s worrying when laws are there but not enforced, as then most people don’t realise the laws exist.

Police, pepper spray and tasers →
We need a police force. They need to be armed with the ability to subdue and disable a suspect that is a physical threat. But giving anyone these abilities needs to require a large amount of oversight as there is only a very limited set of situtations where the use of these abilities is humane and nescessary.
